The Restack Open Call OC#1 has been launched to support research and innovation projects contributing to the development of a robust, secure, and deployable Open Internet Stack.
The call supports activities related to the design and development of free and open source software and open hardware, validation of technical solutions, software engineering, security and testing, standardisation, documentation, usability and inclusive design, deployment and packaging, as well as scientific research. The scope covers core internet infrastructure, networked services and applications, security, privacy, interoperability, and deployable open technology stacks.
Applications may be submitted by individuals, formal or informal organisations, and collaborations between them. A legal entity is not required at the application stage.
Projects are expected to have research and development as their primary objective, contribute to the goals of the Restack programme, and demonstrate a clear European dimension. Scientific outputs must be published as open access, while all funded software and hardware must be released under recognised free or open source licences.
For initial proposals, funding requests may range from €5,000 to €50,000 per project. Projects are expected to be completed within 12 months unless otherwise justified.
Applications will be accepted until 3 November 2026.
